What is the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara?
If you haven’t heard all of the hype around the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara, you’ve probably been living in a cave for the past month or two. There were bloggers from everywhere tweeting about big influencers and bloggers who got flown to the Maldives to hype up the launch of this mascara.
“Lets be honest, if you were contacted by a brand and asked if you wanted to be flown to the Maldives…would you really say no?!”
How much does the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara retail for?
It retails for £21.50 in places like Boots and FeelUnique. It is on the pricier side for a mascara, but if you’re up for splurging then why not! [Enters shrug emoji]
Was the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara worth the hype?
I don’t believe that it was necessary to splash a huge budget on the launch of the mascara. But, the mascara was better than I thought. I had read lots of mixed reviews so I figured I’d give it a go. I’ve had this product for over two weeks to trial and test before making this review. There were lots of images of the finish eyelash look that bloggers were slating the product for being clumpy. So, it made me even more curious.
I’ve always been a subtle gal when it comes to makeup. So, I wanted to test whether this mascara really does what it says. They advertised the mascara as a…

When it comes to mascara, I normally apply one to two thin coats of it. Eyelash curlers are essential for me, as my Asian lashes are so stick straight. I tried on 5 days to put the mascara on at around 8am. Later in the evening, I took it off between 8pm-10pm. I checked for smudging throughout the day, and surprisingly I didn’t get any panda eyes. I definitely noticed the bigger volume and length it gave my lashes. Although, I can’t comment on the lifting of my lashes, as mine don’t lift without the help of an eyelash curler.
What didn’t I like about the mascara?
I didn’t like how long it took to dry up. With the formula so thin, I would have expected that it’d dry quicker. But, it took longer than other mascaras I use. I know the brush is meant to be ‘slimpact’, but I felt it was a little too long. It made it quite awkward to apply without getting it all over my eyes.
So…what are my honest thoughts on the Benefit BAD gal BANG! Mascara?
I actually quite like the mascara. If it was faster-drying, I would love the mascara even more. I’ve managed to lengthen my lashes and give it some volume, whilst also keeping it natural. After all, there’s nothing worse than clumpy eyelashes. I don’t think the mascara is clumpy, contrary to other reviews. But, maybe that’s because I don’t go over my lashes many times with the brush. My eyelashes don’t feel heavy as well, so the formula really is as light as they suggest. I didn’t find the mascara flaky, which is always a positive! I do believe it is a little on the pricier side and you can probably find drugstore equivalents like the L’Oreal Paris Paradise Mascara.
