21st Birthday Party

This post is a little delayed, as I spent way too long trying to perfect everything (as usual)! I just recently celebrated my big 21st birthday, and I wanted to do something a little different with my friends!

It was one of the best birthdays I have ever celebrated, and I can’t remember the last time I’ve laughed so much! I am honestly very blessed to have my boyfriend, friends and family around me that made my day so special. My birthday was on Black Friday (24th November), so it was probably a very hectic day to choose to have a party.

What Did I Decide To Do For My 21st Birthday?

I’m not really one for going on a massive night out in the city, so I decided I wanted to hire a place on Holiday Lettings. I live approximately 20-25 minutes away by train from Manchester, so I thought what better than to book an apartment near the Arndale centre. We all stayed overnight, as there was enough beds for everyone!

I was going to book through Airbnb, but the place I wanted previously had already been booked. You can however, use my referral code by clicking here, to get £25 off your booking!

This apartment is also conveniently located next to The Printworks, which has many bars and restaurants. There’s even a cinema there! It’s an 11-15 minute walk from Piccadilly Train Station, depending on how busy the city centre is.

Interested in what apartment I booked? Check it out in the link below:

What Theme Did I Go For?

I wanted to go for a theme that was very Instagram and Pinterest, so I went for a rose gold and silver theme. A lot of my decoration was from John Lewis, as they have a fantastic selection of party decor. You can shop some of the decor I purchased below:

Before everyone arrived, I had a couple of hours to transform the place. Here’s a few pictures of what it looked like beforehand:

I had a beautiful cake that was made and delivered by HeyLittleCupcake, which is actually a cake shop that is featured in the bakery section in Selfridges at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.

HeyLittleCupcake Cake with 21st Birthday Cake Topper

What cake is complete without some extra decor? I got a beautiful handmade cake topper by Wise Owl*, which helped to finish my cake off and confetti for the table.

I also ordered the cutest scrapbook from Drake Designs UK*! One night I had a unique little idea that I came up with. I bought an Instax camera over a year ago and realised I didn’t get many uses with it. So, I thought what better than taking polaroids with my friends and sticking it in the book. I bought some metallic Sharpies to match my theme. The aim was to allow my friends to write their personal birthday wishes around the polaroids. So, I essentially had a collection of birthday cards all in one book!

I also managed to get my wonderful readers 10% off Drake Designs UK, by using the code ‘SHOPAHOLIC‘!

What Did We Get Up To?

What’s a 21st birthday party without drinking games? We had Beer Pong set up with extreme rules made by the guys and Cards Against Humanity. It was so lovely being able to connect with my friends and learn more about them…Cards Against Humanity really helps you discover the darker side to your friends!

There’s nothing more I love than to get loads of pictures with my friends. So, we set up a little Photo Booth area with my tripod and got loads of pictures together!

We also ordered too much Dominos pizza, because no party is complete without stuffing yourself with takeaway!

Later into the evening, I told everyone to get out of their party clothes and into something more comfy. After all, there’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable!

So, if you want to know what me and my friends got up to, watch the video below (NOTE: does include rude toy my friends bought as a joke!):

I hope you enjoyed my first YouTube video! It’s a bit of an amateur video, so I do apologise, but I tried! If you did enjoy it though, it would mean the absolute world to me if you liked the video, and subscribed to encourage me to make future content!

“To all of my friends and my boyfriend who appear in the post and my video, thank you all for being part of such a special day for me! You’re all absolutely amazing people, and I am so thankful to have you in my life! I laughed and cried throughout the whole day, and I feel truly blessed to know such thoughtful people. Thank you for also helping me capture these beautiful moments, that I can treasure for the rest of my life! I wouldn’t be as content as I am right now without all of your continued love and support throughout everything I do.”
