I’ve always been someone who struggled with their confidence. It literally takes a lot for me to step out of the front door, and think “I look good today!”. These days don’t happen very often for me, but lately I’ve tried to make them happen more. Do things that make you feel more confident within yourself!
This is actually the first Fashion Lookbook I’ve done on The Confessions of an Online Shopaholic, so if you do enjoy it, let me know in the comments below! The location of the shoot is a far-cry from popular blogger location shoots in places like London. But, why not try and branch out and find your own unique gem of a location to shoot in! I’m very lucky to have cute, cobbled streets around my town, so I definitely had to take advantage of that!
I always plan my outfits the night before I go out the following day. This is because if you have a good outfit, you’re going to have a good day! I hate the stress of choosing an outfit on the morning, because if I don’t feel comfortable in the outfit, it’ll just irritate me all day.
Accessories, accessories, ACCESSORIES! You can’t complete an outfit without a little piece of jewellery, or a statement accessory if you’re feeling bold. I love the gold coin-shaped necklaces at the moment that seems to be in fashion. They’re also great to layer with if you have necklaces with a shorter length, and similar colour.
My next step is always my hair! If my hair is styled, it instantly gives me a boost of confidence. I feel like if your hair looks nice, it takes the attention away from areas you may feel more insecure about.
SHOP THE POST:
PLEASE NOTE: Affiliate links are used on The Confessions of an Online Shopaholic. I have also tried to find replacement products that are similar to some of the items featured in this post for those that I cannot find online.
Furthermore, I love to wear minimal makeup. Why over-complicate your makeup when your outfit is meant to be the star of the show? You can read about my everyday foundation I’m using here.
Finally, the key outfit piece you definitely need above all, is CONFIDENCE! If you feel good, you look good. If you’re not feeling so confident, it will show through, especially if you take pictures of your outfit.
I’m far from a Size 0, and it has taken me a long time to even be happy with the way I look. Size is such a stigma these days, this is one of the reasons why I put off doing a post like this for so long. Admittedly, I’m still not there yet with my confidence, but every day I try to build on this. It was a huge stepping stone for me to ask my friend to help me with this photoshoot, let alone in public!
I’ve come to a realisation recently that there is only one of me. I won’t fit in with the stereotype of what a blogger is ‘supposed’ to look like. But, I’m still going to pave myself a path of my own, because what’s the aim of being the same as everyone else? If you just be yourself, you’ll create your own unique corner in this very tough industry!
Hope you enjoyed my first Fashion Lookbook!
