Best Foundation Stick on the Market?I’ve been hearing so much lately about foundation sticks. I haven’t personally tried any until now, because there are just so many out there that I didn’t know where to start. However, I’ve been seeing the L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks all over my Instagram feed. And…I couldn’t resist picking them up myself. Funny thing is, I didn’t purchase them online and live up to my blog name. I ventured into Boots and saw them on the point of sale stands. I just had to grab them, put them in my basket, and pay for them before I regret my choice of breaking my spending ban yet again.
Which Products From the Infallible Line Did I Purchase?
I purchased the Infallible Priming Base to go underneath my foundation. I didn’t actually use the L’Oréal sticks as a foundation, which I just wanted to state before getting into my review. I used the Dior Skin Forever Foundation. I also bought the L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Stick in 220 Coffee and the 180 Radiant Beige. I also couldn’t stop myself from buying the 503 Slay in Rose highlighter stick.

How Did I Apply The L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks
To begin with, I applied the Infallible Primer Base and continued by applying my Dior Skin Forever Foundation. Then, I used the 220 Coffee on the top of my cheekbone. I started off by my hairline and drew it using the sides of the stick to half of the length of my cheekbone.
After, I used the 180 Radiant Beige directly underneath the 220 Coffee. I drew the line from my hairline to the same length as the 220 Coffee line. I blended the lines in using my beauty blender for a subtle and well-blended contour. After finishing the blending of my contour, I used my Milani Blush on the apples of my cheek.
Finally, you can’t forget your highlighter! Because, you’ve got to shine brighter than the sun (if any exists in the UK) after all! I apply the highlighter stick above the 220 Coffee on the top of my cheekbone from my hairline to my mid-cheekbone. I blended this in using my finger.
Initial Impressions on the L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks
I’m actually in love with the products. I heard lots of people comparing the sticks to the Makeup Forever HD Foundation Sticks. A majority actually said they preferred the L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks. Considering Makeup Forever retail their foundation sticks at £29 and L’Oréal retail at £8.99, that is an impressive saving of £20 if you choose to go for L’Oréal. For £29, you can purchase three L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks in three different shades! I personally haven’t tried the Makeup Forever HD Foundation Sticks. But, if you have, please let me know what you think of them down below, because I don’t know whether to add it to my wishlist.
The foundation and highlighter have such a smooth consistency. They’re creamy, so hence glide onto the skin with ease. This makes the blending process very pleasant. It seamlessly blends with your foundation to create a subtle definition to your cheekbones. The highlighter is highly-pigmented, and the stick makes it very easy to control how much highlighter you apply. I’m all for natural-looking makeup, and if you’ve read my previous beauty posts, you would have probably seen me state this. I always shied away from contouring, simply because I didn’t want to over-do my face. But, I’ve actually really enjoyed using this collection!
“Having foundation, blush or highlighter in a stick, instead of a palette gives you more control over what you do.”
On the whole, I would highly recommend the L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Sticks to contouring newbies, to even experts at contouring. If anyone has any similar products they’d like to recommend, please leave me a comment!
P.S – I hope you enjoyed the photos of the snow in the background throughout the post. I actually tried to use my snow days productively, by getting some photography done. If there are any future snow days, you should utilise it, because the snow is a great reflector of light (just a tip) – so who needs a softbox on those days?!
